Congratulations Team MBS 2011!

Team MBS lived up to high expectations this year, performing well at all levels from State through to World competitions. After months of dieting and competition preparation each of the athletes presented beautifully sculpted physiques with unmistakable conditioning that improved from comp to comp. Not only did each of the ladies achieve personal goals, but most walked away with strong placings, cementing team Tabban as a producer of world class athletes.

Charlotte Hailey started the team off beautifully in winning the Overall Ms Fit Body and USA Figure titles at the WNBF NSW Championships, and Rosie Trimble picked up a 1st in Ms Fit Body Masters.

Then at the huge INBA Victorian Championships Vanessa Lambrinos with amazing abs won the Novice Tall Figure class and Marie Jones took out Masters Figure 50+.

Next came the WNBF Victorian Championships, where the versatile Vicky Turner won the Overall title in Women's Bodybuilding and then made a lightning switch to 'girly-girl' heels and open-handed posing to win the Overall in Ms Fit Body as well! Also at the WNBF Vics 1st places went to Lesley Maxwell (Ms Fit Body Masters 50+), Penny Koster (Ms Fit Body Novice Short), Samantha Draper (Ms Fit Body Open Short), Vicky Canavan (Ms Fit Body Intermediate and also USA Figure), and Vanessa Lambrinos (Ms Fit Body Novice Tall).

Finally at the ANB Victorian Championships Vicky Canavan won Open Tall Figure, Vicky Turner won Women's Bodybuilding and Christina Botting won Figure Masters 35+.

Only 1st places have been listed above, however many other Team MBS and Michael Tabban Online Training athletes achieved excellent placings at State-level comps - congratulations to you all!

The team then moved onto the tougher challenge of National-level events.

The INBA Australian Championships was an enormous competition with so many athletes in some divisions that they could hardly all fit on the stage! Nevertheless Vicky Turner continued her successful streak with a 2nd in Figure Open Medium class, while Charlotte Hailey took 4th in Figure Intermediate and 5th in Figure International, Vicky Canavan took 4th in Figure International and 5th in Figure Open Tall, Samatha Draper placed 4th in Figure Open Short, and Marie Jones and Julie Edgely took 5th in Figure Masters 50+ and Figure Novice Tall respectively.

The WNBF Asia-Pacific was the team's final competition in Australia for 2011 and Vicky Turner took out another Overall in Women's Bodybuilding. Meanwhile Jess Davies won both Fit Body Novice Tall and USA Figure, Lesley Maxwell won Fit Body 40+ and Penny Koster won Fit Body Novice Short. 2nd places went to Charlotte Hailey, Lesley Maxwell, Vicky Canavan and Christina Botting, and 3rd places went to Jodie Klijnsma, Vicky Turner and Julie Edgely.

The year culminated in eight athletes travelling to New York to compete in the WNBF (Pro) and INBF (amateur) World Championships, held at Martin Luther King High on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. With over 200 athletes in attendance the competition was stronger then ever.

In the USA Figure Tall division Vicky Canavan took out 1st place (and earned herself a WNBF Pro card!), followed by Charlotte Hailey in 2nd. Jessica Davies placed 4th and Julie Edgley placed 6th, presenting beautifully and rounding out a strong performance by the MBS girls in a field of 15 competitors.

In the Ms Fit Body Short division Samantha Draper placed 3rd and Vicky Turner placed 4th. Lesley Maxwell took 5th place and Penny Koster took 6th. Again the MBS ladies stood out in a competitive group of 15 athletes.

Vicky Turner also competed in Woman's Bodybuilding and achieved 2nd place in a field of eight. Her stunning shape, symmetry and conditioning made the judges' decision difficult and the result was close.

In the Ms Fit Body Tall division Vicky Canavan placed 2nd and Charlotte Hailey placed 3rd out of 15. Although not achieving a placing, Julie Edgley and Jess Davies looked fantastic. The head judge made comment that this division was extremely close and directed the ladies through many rounds of comparisons to enable the judges to reach their final conclusions.

In addition to her Fit Body placing the beautiful Lesley Maxwell also competed in the Pro (WNBF) USA Figure division tall class. With a stunning display of grace and poise throughout both the bikini and dress rounds, she achieved 5th place.

So with one 1st, three 2nd, two 3rd, two 4th and one 5th placing, team Tabban completed another highly successful year of competition internationally.

Congratulations to all Team MBS athletes who competed in 2011: Bec Davidson, Charlotte Hailey, Christina Botting, David Watson, Di Irving, Jannette Campo, Jess Davies, Jodie Klijnsma, Julie Edgely, Lesley Maxwell, Marie Jones, Marisa Desalvo, Melissa Morgan, Mira Henery, Naomi Adler, Penny Koster, Rachel Woodhatch, Rachel McKinnon, Renae Pearce, Rosie Trimble, Salina Reimer, Samantha Draper, Sue Kamphuis, Vanessa Lambrinos, Vicky Canavan and Vicky Turner.
