After waking up new years day this year & not being able to get out of bed because I felt so sick (not from drinking) I got a real fright & thought that my years of a diet predominantly consisting of lollies, chocolate, cakes, chips, take away food & coco cola (& in past years alcohol, cigarettes & other drugs) was finally catching up with me. I also have a fairly physical job so my energy levels were always very low & my physical strength was starting to let me down. (I’m 51 yrs of age)
I decided then & there that my new years resolution would be to join a gym to get stronger & hopefully learn about diet & develop a lifestyle of healthy eating & exercise, rather than a quick fix to go on that next holiday.
I came across muscle & body shape while searching the net. I joined up on 3rd Jan & apart from missing 1 session when I hurt my thumb I have trained 4 times a week since I started 11 months ago. (Jasmin, my trainer, even gave me a program to follow when I was away on holidays)
Jasmin has been absolutely fantastic & helped me so much, especially with my diet, patiently teaching me about nutrition & making healthier choices. I have more than surpassed my expectations of becoming healthier & stronger & as a bonus have changed my body shape quite considerably.
I find the gym totally inspiring, especially with all the photos that line the walls. I also feel the gym has a real family atmosphere, & that people really care about you which is not common in other gyms I have attended in the past. I have been suffering from cholesterol and high blood pressure for many years. I have tried in combination with medication, naturopath, eating habits, etc. but never reduced my total results.
As I have been training at your gym for the last 6 months, trained by yourself, I have lost a total of 12kg and have never felt better.
I have recently had my regular blood test. I have received my results and I was totally amazed at the figures. I was so ecstatic as my results after many, many years are almost at normal level. My blood presser is also at normal state.
Thanks to you and your personal training, it has put my health and life back together.

I started working out at M.B.S about 3 months ago. I found the gym by accident after visiting a friend who lives nearby. I knew the gym had a great reputation, so I thought I might give it a try. I have had previous gym experience but never as professional as MBS. Since starting training, my fitness has much improved and my body is definitely changing shape. Areti is a great trainer and is very careful in managing my personal needs. I love the work out. It feels great!

After retiring from Aussie rules football I have always tried to keep fit, dabbling in triathlons with various training programs including some weights, but it wasn't until my partner Katie decided to take up body shaping and myself tagging along, that I have experienced weight training at this level. It was from the first time that I walked into the gym that I realized this place was different. The gym for me had an inspiring atmosphere, girls with muscles, photos, trophies from past competitions and the feeling that everyone that trains there were part of a team. Katie and I felt for her to be successful and consequently myself this was a good place to be. I have been training with Michael and the MBS team for 2 years and have learnt so much especially through the experience of competing both in Australia and overseas. Katie and I first travelled from Tocumwal on the NSW border each week to train staying with friends (still friends) but since have bought a unit in Richmond to accommodate our passion. We still travel and look forward to the training each week. I will turn 49 in October and was always worried about past injuries catching up with me, shoulder reconstruction, bulging discs, torn ligaments and numerous broken bones (courtesy of football) and it has been for these reasons I have always tried to do the best for my health. I firmly believe that the weight training and the diet taught to me by Michael and MBS Team has played a huge part in making me feel in total control of my health.
